Organization Description |
Climate of Art, a renowned art program within the Miami Dade Public Library System now in its eighth year, aims to raise environmental awareness and foster community action through unique artworks. This year’s theme, “Climate of Art: Beyond the Surface – A Deep Dive into Water,” specifically highlights Biscayne Bay’s critical importance as a sub-tropical shallow estuary hosting state aquatic preserve, wildlife areas, and national parks, representing a diverse and delicate ecosystem. The program offers 12 workshops covering art forms like painting, sculpting, and embroidery, centered around water preservation, conservation, flooding, droughts, and rising sea levels. Participants’ artworks will be showcased in a grand exhibition at the Miami Beach Regional Library on August 24th, inviting families and friends to engage in eco-friendly art activities and connect with local environmental organizations and artists. This initiative invites all to contribute to the dialogue on environmental issues through creative expression. |
